why do these pix take so long to load? anywho…like i said…myv is a movement, a feeling, you feel like not only being nice and caring about those surrounding you, but also like keeping your own style and being confident in your individuality. in a phrase “yes i can!”. happy , vaguely hardcore, but nice in your actual core.

it says “this iz the japanese kabuki rock” in white on the bottom right corner and it cuts off his hat a bit more…but i walk into my room and its like WHOA. myv! lol only 10 dollars at the concert so i’m happy…but he’s not wearing my fave lipring and i like his hair w/out the hat…but its all good, its still myv. notice how half his face is soooper white, you can barely see his spike of an earring..

did you know there is a word limit? yes…i wrote 4 pages…heres the other half:

GIFTS: people threw some gifts on stage [which never occurred to me DANG IT] a folder and some blue/green bag tied with ribbons. he kissed it and then threw it behind him. haha. kawaiiiii! we freaked, of course. the kavki boys and him were waving miyavi towels around, it LOOKED like they were gonna throw them they kept thrashing them around to the beat but the they threw those behind them too…

GIFT SHOP: pink hats sold out. $30 as much as a ticket! dang! button pack $5, 2 wristbands $15, shirts, tanks, towels and hoodies with myv’s outline, he looked like a geisha…but it was just a shadow…i bought a purple hat and a poster $10..which was kinda sad when i opened it and found out he didn’t have his signature lipring on! it was a huge mob, with pushing and cutting and it took me forever cuz i wanted to be polite…argh..i cant bring myself to push ppl…i’ve only ever hit ppl jokingly [besides when i was lil] so it took me forever to get to the front like a full half an hour and when i got out, my knees felt like buckling cuz i had barely inched and, unlike the concert, my blood and adrenaline weren’t really flowing…eh…w/e…

shoes: some ppl had big black boots with huge rubber bottoms, while others chose the wooden shoe with the end cut off and a ribbon up the leg, ballerina style. others still [boys] chose crocodile european looking shoes. some had heels. thats pretty stupid. you have to stand all night. cummon. i had tennis shoes, why? because i’m not retatded. but the boots looked tight, and i was pointing cool ppl in line out to my friends the entire time…i’ve NEVER been around so many ppl in costumes.

FEELING: i’ve never felt like i’ve been part of a movement b4.

it was alot like this. peoples hands all up. that guy dancing. the dj had his hair down, hot, the rapper and myv were playing around, pretty ridiculous XD myv would look @ random places in the crown until he saw all the ppl there were really riled up. the lights were pretty crazy. and he was sweating by the end of the 1st song. the lights musta been real hot. red blue white etc. :] the last song was very special. got us all really happy. he did some guitar slapping too…sounded like the thing b4 selfish love in the Music video…i’m glad myv had the kavki boiz cuz a one man show must get really lonely…even if you do seem to hear voices in your head…jk jk.

check out the vids for his outfits. pink long skirt pants. black jeans. face tattoo. hat. no hat. sunglasses. someone came up and put a head band on him, black and white, looked kinda like a rising sun logo? he did say he was from the land of the rising sun…more commentary to come. payce. p.s. he blew kisses too, and there would be random lights roaming the audience, we looked like a sea of fish all swimming into myv’s net. and we LIKED IT. so did he. hehehe.

So me, alice, justyne and rachel went to downtown disney, house of blues for a myv concert. this occured on may 14th 2008. an amazing day in the life of darialois. here we will be compiling our memories to be sure never to forget, and also to not miss anything and to be as accurate as possible myv aishiteru! <333

so upon arriving we found a huge line was already there, it snaked around in funky curves, around a green tiled fountain. Some people were walking around trying to sell extra tickets, which i thought was stupid cuz we’d all bought ours like a month early…but anyways…some girl was getting taken somewhere by a cop, he was holding her arms behind her..that was kinda scary…i decided not to do anything illegal right then…i’m kidding, what was i gonna do anyway? the type of ppl in line ranged from stylish asian girls in gray to white people in black punk rock clothes with a Japanese flair. a lot of people had their hair dyed black…and even more had random colors in it…about 2/5 of the people were dressed vaguely normal…the rest were kinda costumed, and definetly outta the norm. corsettes, wooden shoes, rainbow hair. we even saw a girl with a braid down to her ankles. there were bright green mini skirts with 3 socks on each leg and a fishnet stocking on only one side..to crocodile shoes…to Miyavi’s rainbow hair on some guy…and miyavi’s old hair style from the video with the dandelions and the umbrella in the field. some guy who worked in downtown Disney came and gave everyone under 21 yrs. old a pink wrist band, i guess cuz there was a bar inside…or maybe for Miyavi to know who was jailbait ;D

we waited for about an hour and we all kinda had to pee but no way were we getting even further behind in the line! about 7 p.m. the doors opened and the front of the line got to start going through the metal detection team…then up the stairs where the bar codes on our tickets were scanned with a red laser gun thing…

when we finally got up the stairs it looked like a bar…it was kinda small, theater sized, and the stage had a HUGE black cloth behind the drums that said in a circle of white writing “THIS IZ JAPANESE KABUKI ROCK” in the middle it had the character that means MIYAVI <333 random people were walking around on the stage, all asian, setting things up and making final checks, we[the crowd] got excited every time someone new came onstage and burst out cheering. when finally some people started to test the guitars to see if they were tuned we knew it would start soon…my friends said he’s usually late though…anywho..we started chanting “miyavi miyavi miyavi!” a couple of times, but it did nothing, he took his own sweet time. or maybe he was backstage changing and putting on his black eye make up..which you’ll hear more on later if you’re patient!

i still cant believe i was there…wow…well thats miyavi in the corner…no cameras allowed…but cell phones, yes!!

ALICE:

So the lights went dark. everyone got quiet. and then..you see someone strolling onto the stage, and then stand in the center of the stage, back away from the audience. The crowd went WILD. and then the loud music started, and the lights went on as he turned to face us. but he had a fan to cover his face. two ppl on the stage threw cherry blossom petals up in the air above him. then he played around with the fan a bit, and when he threw it onto the floor of the stage and we could see his face, the screams got even louder. he started playing his coolio guitar and dancing around the stage. This reminded me remarkably of a theme park attraction, like Universal Studos shows. He did his “spinning around with the guitar” move and moved all across the stage. he was wearing crazy colors and freaky wild stuff. when he had taken his huge white coat off, he had a sleaveless shirt on, and he lifted it with one hand up to the belly button. we went crazy. then his hand went down…into his pants…lol.

ME AGAIN:

at first he teased us with his white trenchy coat type thing…showing off his shoulder..haha…we all freaked…he took it off later…threw it to the side..he kept gesturing for us to get louder, with our screaming and our “miyavi!” chants. >_< squeeee. aite…i was on my tippy toes a lot i mean i’m 5′4 not bad, but still…taller ppl ahead of me…i was standing there like an IDIOT. i was just standing there smiling, i must have looked so weird…but w/e no one was looking at me, the attention was all MYV, i got more into it, but being raised a conservative SDA european…uh…not easy to let loose…i DID put my hands up to make a heart like 10 times. ahh myv!! ^_^

there was this kavaki boi on the side with some hat with ear flaps and a thing draped under it too…he had on a baggy vest, shirt and jeans, something striped black and white…he danced and spazzed and grooved to myv’s guitaring, Myv likes to play you see, he would play a few notes and then have the Kavki Boiz, the fatter one rap out the same notes, and the skinny one tap dance. apparently they are very amusing to him, he played around with them all concert. the skinny guy with the ear flaps clapped when he wanted us to clap along, etc. he taught us how to appropriately express ourselves by dancing, tap dancing, head banging and clappping. MYV told us to do 2 motions. clap and then stick out hands out for boom-ha, boom-ha-ha. boom was clap. and ha was put both hands up flat. there was a guy on the side of the stage, one of myv’s ppl taking pictures. and there was security who stood there the whole concert, poor guys, it musta been scary and loud up there. apparently ppl try to jump up on stage a lot in other places.

the crowd: CAN’T BELIEVE IT! the ppl by me were all friendly and polite. we were all here to admire myv, NOT to hurt and push other ppl around, so it was pretty tame around me, we let ppl through, except the violent ones, haha, we pushed them right back. i was near the bar, i got pushed up by it and my hand landed on the wooden counter and the bar tender looked up so i took my hand away cuz i didn’t want him to think i was asking for a drink…w/e he was lucky to be in an uncrowded place. we all got so sweaty, i put my hands up near my chest, just cuz leaving them limp made me accidentally grope ppl when the grown moved, so i’d rather hit shoulders than butts on accident, catch my drift? no? you perverts! haha. naw, there were mostly girls by me…so thats more safe for me…but also more awkward…but my brother was there behind me the whole show since i was the flimsiest participant in out little group…he was so amazing! he is a big guy, who dislikes my taste in music just cuz i’m so crazy about it that it turns him off…haha…ooopppsss…but i needed a guardian and would never dream of scarring my parentals with this loudness…[i hear i was gonna be deaf by the end] anyway, my, bro is buff and tall and he was like a WALL!! all the ppl pushing he moved himself so no one ever hit me <333333333333333333 >_< awwwwwwwwww. now if i could only go to an ft island concert, he was making fun of me like “so why aren’t you singing along? you don’t know the words?” pfff….but i know all the fti lyrics…but thats korean…terribly sorry, where was i? yes! the most pit was tame, ppl were rocking out sure, but it was just jumping, hands up with the “rock on” signs bouncing all over back and forth…my bro told me that moshing gets violent they hit you everywhere and they’re angry, and just letting loose and you hit back….which made me really scared…cuz i like the music…but i like peace better…only a couple of rude ppl by me…rest of the concert was ok, i only inched forward when there was space for me concert etiquette ppl. my and my bro only communicated with body language, thumbs up, nodding and smiling, i took his arm and threw it up to encourage him…but his style is rough moshing so eh…

some crazy girl next to me was dancing and howling, even tho i didn’t know the music, it gave me courage [fades in to soapera narrarator ] anywho, i got energized and started moving around too, and howling, IN FACT!- when it got quiet i yelled “SEXXYYYY!!!” and like 1/2 the crowd turned around. i felt bad for someones mother next to me, she was kinda being influenced by peer pressure to shake her head and do crazy things, she was kinda bopping along, you could tell she had been dragged there by some insane daughter, poor mom, and then the screaming started and she always covered her ears….i felt bad…but i couldnt NOT scream, i didnt pay $30 plus “random fees” for nothing. i even did some jumping *proud of self* like i said the crowd was tame around me, almost everyone was older than me there…my bro didnt move almost at all, he had his arms crossed, but he was vaguely bobbing and he said even the the music was eclectic or some weird word like that [not mainstream] he enjoyed myv’s shenanigans, and said he put on a good show. it was a work out. pheew. believe me! i urge you! lolz

ok so most of the music was kinda low and base-y. my bro said he wished he was the base player. i have no idea why. ask him. it was hard to hear him although he was next to me…haha…the other 3 ppl in our clan got lost, it was aite, we found em later…so myv is jumping all over the stage and leaning on the sides and ppl are scrambling to touch his arms, etc. i was like 20 feet away from him…ohh myv. XD haha. aite, seriously, the kavaki boys did most of everything, meevs only played the guitar, sure he switched to 3 diff. guitars but still.

aite so some silly things miyavi did include: he almost threw his jacket at us, he got really close to the rapper in his guitar. he tricked the dancer by not playing, the game was myv played some notes then the dancer danced, it got faster and faster and then myv just STOPPED and the dancer was ALMOST caught off guard, and MYV stuck his tongue out like “ha ha biznatch” kawaii! *_* haha. he sure teased us A LOT. it involved audience participation A LOT. he was always looking to get us LOUDER. READ PART 2.

he changed like 3 times and redarkened his make up each time so there were times in b/ween when the kovaki boys would entertain us with remixes of myv songs…the DJ was cute!!!! i remember he did senor senora senorita remixed…he’s purty good but i really wanted myv to play some old songs like itoshi hito, dear my friend…well ya kno…etc…he DID play to be wiz you AND what a wonderful world<—i sang along a lil…and alice recognized the guitar solo for selfish love and i recognized the “la la la” from that one song…is it girls, be ambitious…iono..

this was the ending song “what a wonderful world” i sang along with the “mawaru mawaru blah blah blah blah mawaru!” yes! aishiteru myv! w/e ur saying! my friend knew all the words…tee hee MYV SAID “i know that i suck at english, i dont care, its not about the language, break the language barriers, its about the emotions, you know, the feelings” right after he said that he sucked at english the crown erupted with shouts of “its ok!” “we love you!” ….or at least i did….and he was like “bye guys, but its ok cause i’ll see you all again next time, huh?” and we yelled and shouted our approval. ahhhh. miyavi. *fan girls*

i’m freaking out cause i saw these guys there! ahh! proof! evidence! it DID happen! i only wish i knew more of his new songs…i know he played BOOM HAH HAH…and prolly japan pride…iono…0_o…my apologies

myv started playing his black guitar behind his back…my friend says that takes some muscle…his arms looked a lot more bulky than i would imagine from seeing pix. he was still skinny, but you know…he was working on up to shapely ;D

what can i say? he puts on a good show. he told us “bang your head” while pointing to his head. and he had us yell “yeah” and “hell yeah”

the kovaki boy you hear going “what what what what” had a black x painted on his face and a black hat with a red circle, like the japan flag :D…i think there was a black bandana underneath it too…blah blah blah “alleluiah”! thats what he said…

myv was totally like “are you ready to rock?” and we responded like 16 time YES “i AM ready to rock” and the guy on the right was just to get us to dance and clap and stuff, he was on stage being energetic and telling us how to respond and stuff…spazzy little guy…looked a bit like a loveable hobo…pardon me…JK!! chill guys. hat rapper guy had us yell “M-Y-V” and MIYAVI!”"

how effin cool does his hair look?! [look he changed outfits again :] i didnt like his braided bangs with the hat on but i decided that i DO love his hair w/out a hat…the shiny metal clips were aite too…i cant remember if they were holding his hat or his bangs…i just remember they shined in my eyes…*closes eyes* *reminisces*

4 serious tho…i’m having concert withdrawals. i want to jump around, howl and throw my hands up…i have new leg muscles from standing for like 4 hours and when i went to bed last night my ears were ringing…its quieter now tho…haha…it was surreal standing there in that tiny room, pressed by 200 ppl, all sweaty, but it was sweet and worth it. the music was kinda strange, but I LOVE YOU MIYAVI! FAN FOR LIFE!

[iono why he was complaining about his english cuz his accent was so cute and his pronunciation was very good, on youtube i never understand him. ] (my friends understood every word, my sister understood nothing…i got the jist of things…and right after the concert we were imitating his cute accent~ kawaii!!)

so i was upset that the authors of absolute boyfriend made me read all the way to the end just to find out that something HORRIBLE happens in the end.

the new Hana Kimi came out and they FINALLY have some confessing and touching going on. i’ve been dying for them to quite mousing around and go at it! i don’t mean like THAT, but just like hugging and stuff instead of being so AWKWARD they could die.

Recently, JaME had the opportunity to interview Miyavi before the JRock Revolution festival in Los Angeles, California. The artist was casually dressed and spoke to JaME in English.

Since the last time we spoke with you in Vegas, have there been any more secret missions?
Miyavi: Secret missions? Ohh, no.

Are you planning anymore secret mission? Or is it a secret?
Miyavi: Yes, there will be more, but it’s a secret.

You always have really interesting tour goods, like the miyavi-cans and the MYVSRocks skirt. Are you directly involved with the ideas for your merchandise, or do you have a team that does it for you?
Miyavi: That comes from me. Yeah.

You’ve been part of the visual scene for a while now, what are the biggest changes you’ve noticed in the newer VK bands?
Miyavi: There have been changes in style and attitude in the music. It’s quieter. Back in the day all the musicians were harder. Now it’s less so. But now Japanese culture is getting bigger, spreading worldwide. I’m proud to be a Japanese artist.

A few months ago you played a mini show in Las Vegas. Looking back, what was your favorite moment from that show?
Miyavi: There were people from so many walks of life, many of them were hip hop, and there were NBA allstars there, and people celebrating Chinese New Year. But, my fans were also there. I was excited and so glad to see my fans.

Were you aware of the 21 and over age limit ahead of time?
Miyavi: Yes, but it was a night club, there was nothing we could do, we had no choice. But I am always very proud to be playing at any place.

Do you feel that you’re received differently by the US audiences than you are in Japan?
Miyavi: It’s the same, the same energy level, the fans are the same. But, my first time playing in the US I was so excited, because the fans now like Japanese culture such as anime, fashion and Visual Kei. That’s why I was so excited, there was such enthusiasm for Japanese culture.

What hopes do you have for this performance at JRock revolution? Are you looking to increase your US presence, or are you just here to play for fun?
Miyavi: I’m here for my fans. Just the fans. I will play anywhere. Anytime, anywhere, I will play music for my fans. That’s why I’m here in America.

What can US fans do to encourage you to tour here?
Miyavi: In America? A collaborative tour, or on my own?
On your own
Miyavi: Fan mail. Lots of fan mail. I am always reading fan mail from the US and overseas. Even when it’s kind of hard to read.
Does it help you with your English?
Miyavi: Yeah, it really does. It helps me learn.

How did you meet the artists that performed with you during your 5 days lives in Tokyo last year?
Miyavi: By coincidence. They’re from different genres, hip hop, tap dancer, traditional Japanese drum, beat box, DJ and a drummer.

Were you looking to do this sort of performance and then met these other artists, or did you decide on the performance after you met them?
Miyavi: No, before I met them. I was trying to gather all of them. It was very complicated. Sometimes I went to a club and looked for a special person. Sometimes I went and played on the street, and they would come along and jam, and I would meet them that way.

In July you’re releasing a mini-album with re-recordings of a few of your previous songs. How did you choose those songs?
Miyavi: I picked the ones that I thought would make my fans happy. My musical style has changed. The core of each song remains the same, but the style changes. I am always changing, it’s part of life, my life style. Be positive, not negative. Don’t hesitate and go, that sort of thing. I can feel it even now. I want to make my fans happy.

Recently on your blog you said that you were looking forward to “screaming in the background” in a band again. What other aspects of being in a band, as opposed to being a solo artist, do you enjoy?
Miyavi: I like the groove. You get a groove from the other members, there’s a chemistry between them. And also I’m lonely. As a solo artist I don’t have to report to everybody, but honestly, I am a lonely person, that’s why I like being in a band.

Do you feel that being in a band places less pressure on you, because the decisions are not solely your responsibility, or does it place you under more pressure, because you have to meet the expectations of multiple people instead of making music that please just you?
Miyavi: It’s complicated. A little of both, there are good things and bad things. In a band, there is responsibility for each person, but there is also chemistry.

Many of your fans fear that you will no longer produce solo work if you rejoin a band. Can you tell us if you have plans for the future regarding solo work?
Miyavi: What I can say now is that I am going to make a new style. I can promise that. I’m a guitarist, and I’m always covering different genres. Hip-hop, funk, jazz, rock and punk - with these I want to make a new style of music. This summer I’m going on tour including Germany and Korea. After that I’m going to release a new single, that’s going to be a new sound. It’s Neo Visualism.

What can fans expect from the Neo Visualism tour, will it be a big change?
Miyavi: Not a big change, but I mixed my style. I’ve always been a rock artist, but I mixed rock, pop, and many genres to create something new.

For fun, if you ran PS Company, what would the initials PSC stand for?
Miyavi: Perfect Special Culture.

Do you have a final message for your US fans?
Miyavi: I came to rock you all on the stage. I’m a visual artist, and I want to express my feelings through my music. My lifestyle is best described as Kabuki. Kabuki is Japanese culture, a live art with humor. The visual industry is getting bigger in the world, but I want to make a new style. There’s no meaning to repeating the same thing over and over. That’s why I want to make a new style, a new vision. I call it Neo Visualism. I want to go to America and everywhere in the whole world to rock them. Please enjoy my music, and please wait until I can come to you.

The meaning of “Dong Bang Shin Ki” or “Tong Vfang Xien Qi” is “Gods Rising from the East”. They consist of a five-member dance team is made up of high school students who auditioned for stardom. Each member of Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) has proved his talent in singing as well as dancing. Thus, the mould of the korean boy band was formed.

The Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) boys were put in different groups among peers during their training to be selected for the band, which was already named Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) / Tong Vfang Xien Qi.

The first to join Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) was Kim JunSu (김준수) who was 12 at that time; he was brought into the program through a TV show looking for a new talent. He continued to train for six more years and debuted under the name of Xiah Junsu (시아준수; Xiah is pronounced SHe-AH in Korean).

The next TVXQ (Dong Bang Shin Ki, DBSK) member to join, Jung YunHo (정윤호), won his audition through a dance competition. However, he was no amateur–he had been a backup dancer and rapper for K-pop singer Dana. His chosen stage name is U-know YunHo (유노윤호; because when you say YunHo real fast, it sounds like U-know in English).

Kim JaeJoong(김재중), like Tamaki Nami (a Japanese pop singer), left his hometown to audition for SM Entertainment and debut under the name a fortune teller foretold years before: YoungWoong JaeJoong (영웅재중). He is also known as Hero, the meaning YoungWoong (영웅).

Shim ChangMin (심창민), was one of the youngest to audition; nevertheless, he passed the try-outs. He joined the band on the name of ChoiKang ChangMin (최강창민; the English counterpart to his stage name is Max).

Six months prior to the Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK)’s debut, a new member was added. American Park YooChun (박유천) changed his name to Micky YooChun (믹키유천). Originally, YooChun’s English name was Micky, so he chose his English name to be part of his stage name.

so i went to hollywood. i saw the stars on the floor with the names on them. i barely recognized any of the names, sad sad. w/e. i saw ppl dressing up as famous ppl, like superheros, marilyn monroe, jack sparrow, chewbacca…who wanted a picture…do these ppl get paid?? man…wierd…a cool thing tho was being a tourist, kinda. but as a tourist i enjoyed very much actually seeing other tourists wandering semi-aimlessly about. what i love is that foreign tourists have such an enthusiasm for seeing america, like it is sooo desirable and beautiful. it makes me really happy to live in SoCal although i am not one of SoCal’s major attractions as u can imagine…so i have no say…i’m so lost, what was i saying? i rode out all of today with loud ft island music and only 3 hours of sleep. thats it. oh, and a quesadilla. i also had my 1st virgin margarita, it was strawberry…and no i’ve never ever had anything even vaguely alcoholic my entire life…maybe old apple juice but eh…it was strange how many asians were there. they were the enthusiastic ones, wandering about in packs. >_< but then i also saw some european bretherin…actually they were sister-en? but it made me realize that europeans are wayy cool, and i should appreciate my own background more than i appreciate asia, which is not even my culture. i mean hot damn, europeans are HOT! even asians think so! lol european women are about the most desirable in THE WORLD! and i fall into that category. i also hung out with my lil sis and my older bro and his college friends at denny’s (food place) we had some laughs and some conversations. i like matured guys…thats like senior in college mentality..but i like boys NOW, i dont wanna wait till our brains match :’[ daaang.
